English: With a father being a jazz and latin drummer & percussionist and a mother being a singer & guitarist and both of them teaming up to perform jazz and "musica popular do Brazil" for like 30 Years now, it is quite obvious that this musical background would have a profound influence on their spawn...

After playing piano and getting nasty on percussion of all kind, always flirting with turntables, 1995 was the first time for him to dj at a club. Spinning took him all across Germany, to London, to Russia, and there even up to Novosibirsk.
Back in the days when dj-radio Evosonic was born into its short and intensive life, his weekly shows "Boulevard Beatnik" and especially "Soular Energy" became a playground for the combination of modern electronic music with its roots in the past.

Musical styles shifted from hip-hop, jungle, big- and breakbeats, over house music to nujazz and nulatin, always keeping it soulful. At the same time his musical range expanded more and more into the 70's and 60's with emphasis on latin, soul and pure funk. So through reworking the 70's for the third time or so, there suddenly was disco and pre-garage with all its related styles, and finding out that these actually are the roots of almost all contemporary clubmusic, it was the beginning of a long relationship that hasn't come to an end yet...

Deutsch: Wenn sich ein Jazz / Latin Drummer und Percussionist und eine Sängerin / Gitarristin zusammentun, um seit mittlerweile 30 Jahren Jazz und Musica Popular do Brazil (MPB) zu produzieren, so verwundert es kaum, wenn ein solcher musikalischer Background auch auf den Nachwuchs abfärbt.
Nach etlichen Jahren des Zuhörens wechselte Cuebism 1994 die Seiten und begann, das Erlernte mit einer Prise Turntablism gewürzt unters Volk zu bringen.
Mit Platten im Gepäck ging es umgehend quer durch Deutschland, weiter nach London und schliesslich sogar bis ins tiefste Russland nach Moskau und Novosibirsk.

Zu der Zeit, als der legendäre DJ-Radiosender Evosonic sein kurzes, aber intensives Leben begann, servierte Cuebism der begeistertem Hörerschaft mit wöchentlichen Shows wie "BOULEVARD BEATNIK" und vor allem "SOULARE ENERGY" ein eklektisches Amalgam aus elektronischer Musik und einem guten Schuss Roots.
Dank seiner musikalischen Wurzeln in den 60s und 70s führte ihn die Reise durch die elektronische Clubmusik sehr bald auch wieder dorthin zurück.

Die Wiederentdeckung der DISCO-Era und ihrer wahren Geschichte gleicht für Cuebism der Wiedererfindung der Rades - ein wahrer Fundus an übersehenen Juwelen der Experimentierfreudigkeit, die durch ihren ungeschliffenen Sound und ihre Originalität einen Großteil der aktuellen Produktionen weit übertreffen.

In seiner aktuellen Radioshow "EBONY CUTS" bietet Cuebism regelmässig tiefen Einblick in den Klang des New Yorker Underground zur Geburtsstunde von Garage, Hiphop und House.
