English: What is it that constitutes a human being? Could it be great deeds, success, aplomb and a winner's laugh? Or could it be the ability to go against the odds of life while never losing hope?

With the continuously occasional assistance of singer/songwriter Julia Kotowski known as Entertainment for the Braindead, Andreas Brettschneider aka Asbo Kid and Thomas Bönsch aka Feran try to get to the bottom of this question with their indie-pop gems. Stylistically bobbing and weaving on the fine line between electronic beats and electric guitars, their lyrics and melodies - in a catchy and bittersweet way - circle around the attitude and approach to life of the doubtful, pensive and sensitive daydreamer. Shiny surfaces and winner-types just aren't fertile subjects if you aim to convey the pain of existence and the vulnerability of the soul.

By escaping to the inside from a reality that's all too cold and rational, Gahzed supply humaneness exactly with what it needs most urgently to survive: consolation.

Deutsch: Was macht einen Menschen aus? Sind es große Taten, Erfolg, Souveränität und ein Gewinnerlachen? Oder ist eher die Fähigkeit, den Widrigkeiten des Lebens zu trotzen und dabei die Hoffnung nicht zu verlieren?

Unter regelmäßig gelegentlichem Mitwirken der als Entertainment for the Braindead bekannten Singer/Songwriterin Julia Kotowski gehen Andreas Brettschneider alias Asbo Kid und Thomas Bönsch alias Feran in ihren Indie-Pop Gemmen dieser Frage auf den Grund. Stilistisch auf der Grenze zwischen elektronischen Beats und elektrischen Gitarren tänzelnd, thematisieren sie in ihren Melodien und Texten ebenso eingängig wie bittersüß Haltung und Lebensgefühl des stoffeligen, gedankenverlorenen und empfindsamen Tagträumers. Glänzende Oberflächen und Siegertypen sind als Gegenstand der Betrachtung nun mal wenig geeignet, um den Schmerz der Existenz und die Verletzlichkeit der Seele greifbar zu machen.

Indem sie die Flucht nach innen vor einer allzu kalten und rationalen Realität antreten, geben Gahzed der Menschlichkeit genau das zurück, was sie zum eigenen Fortbestand am dringendsten benötigt: Trost.
